Seeker (Seeker #1) by Arwen Elys Dayton

**I received a free copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review**

2 ½ stars!

Since she was 8 years old, Quin Kincaid has been training to be a Seeker, along with her third cousin Shinobu.  It is their family’s legacy to follow in the footsteps of the Seekers of the past, protecting the world from “tyrants and evildoers”.  Along with John, the love of Quin’s life, who has been practicing alongside her and Shinobu, it is almost time for their final test and oath to take the final steps to There and become a sworn Seeker.  But with her not so nice father at the helm, is being a Seeker everything they’ve expected or will they be walking into something more sinister then the evil they are supposed to be preventing.

What is a Seeker you may ask…I’m still not really sure.  And where is There…I have truly no idea – a wrinkle in the fabric of time?  What is there in There?  Who at the Dreads and what is their connection to each other and the Seekers?  How is it possible for Quin and Shinobu to forget about most aspects of their lives, but John remembers?  There were far too many unanswered and unresolved questions/ issues in the book for me.  Not to mention that the POV switching, along with the changes in time, were confusing and very hard to follow.  I think this was an AWESOME concept, and the great “bones” of the story is there, it just felt like there was so much I was questioning by   end of the book…for that reason, it took me way too long to read, as I really just wanted to pass on reading past the first few chapters.  I know it’s going to at least have one more book after it, so I’m hoping that the story line improves and we as readers get some more answers about the what and the why surrounding Quin, Shinobu, John, and the like.
